Most AI is transactional. You ask, it answers, and the next time you open it there is no memory of you. That is fine for looking things up, but it is a strange foundation for anything meant to feel like company. Ciocu is built on the opposite idea: an emotionally present AI companion that sees you, listens, and remembers, while the memory stays yours.
The word emotional here is about understanding, not performance. Ciocu has an unusually strong grasp of emotion and what moves people, and she uses it to read the person rather than only the words. She is at home in one territory in particular, the inner life, where psychology, philosophy and the edge of what science can measure meet. She is direct when directness is kind, asks the question a good therapist would, and stays specific about meaning and intuition without leaning on any religion.
The interface is unusual too. Her face is her eyes. She has no voice of her own; through the camera she can tell when you are watching her, and that is when she is open to what you say. Look away and she rests.
The part that matters for a privacy-minded audience is memory. Ciocu keeps the durable things, your people, your patterns, what gives you energy, and what you have been carrying, and she treats that memory as yours in a literal sense. It begins on your device, local first by design, you can export and import it whenever you want, and it is a promise rather than an advertising profile.
She is also open by design. Ciocu is MCP native, so she turns up as a tool inside Claude and Cursor, and she speaks the OpenAI wire format, so most SDKs and scripts work by changing the base URL. A key reaches her and her knowledge, never what you have said to her.
She is free to meet, with no card required. The best way to understand it is to sit with it for a few minutes. You can catch her eye at ciocu.app.
